kernel-patch-scripts software package provides Scripts to help dealing with packaged kernel patches, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install kernel-patch-scripts
kernel-patch-scripts is installed in your system.
Make ensure the kernel-patch-scripts package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep kernel-patch-scripts *
You will get with kernel-patch-scripts package name, version, architecture and description in a table
